In accordance with the published rules, the regional judges have adapted the regional breakdown more accurately to reflect the geographical distribution and standard of the essays received. This has meant that there are no entries of sufficient standard to reach the winning criteria from every region.

Exceptionally they have decided to make additional awards in Scotland in the S5-6 age group.
